Today marks the official launch of Devit — a developer-focused social platform designed around how developers actually share and discover work. No noisy general-purpose feed, no algorithm optimized for outrage. Just a place to post what you're building, follow the people and projects you care about, and find your next collaborator.
An algorithmic feed that actually respects your time
Devit ships with a full ranking system under the hood — a Hacker News-style decay scoring model that balances recency against engagement, backed by a post_views tracking layer and scheduled trending computations. Trending posts and trending communities are surfaced through dedicated RPCs, and the feed learns who to recommend you follow next based on your activity.
Built around your GitHub identity
Your code is the centerpiece, not an attachment. Devit integrates deeply with GitHub:
Live repo cards
Drop a repo link and get a live, rich preview — stars, language, description, pulled straight from GitHub.
Code sandbox embeds
Share runnable code snippets directly inside posts, no context-switching to another tab.
Webhook ship posts
Wire up a webhook and every deploy or release can auto-post an update to your followers.
GitHub identity widget
Your profile carries a live GitHub identity card, verified through Supabase GitHub OAuth.
Real community, in real time
Beyond the feed, Devit gives developers the tools to actually organize around shared work: developer stacks with autocomplete so your profile reflects the tools you use, project badges and milestones to mark progress, topic channels to gather around a technology or niche, and enhanced DMs with live typing indicators for when a conversation needs to move faster than a comment thread.
Fast, safe, and built to scale
Under the hood, every realtime subscription runs through a centralized, view-scoped RealtimeManager, rate limiting is enforced at the database layer via Supabase triggers and a client-side MutationGuard, and a full moderation stack — spam detection, NSFW image detection via Clarifai, and an admin moderation dashboard — keeps the platform clean as it grows.
BounceBot: every link gets checked before it's trusted
Any URL shared on Devit passes through BounceBot, a purpose-built link intelligence and safety crawler. Instead of trusting a raw link blindly, BounceBot resolves it, follows redirects safely, and scores it before it's ever surfaced to another user.
SSRF-protected crawling
Every fetch is sandboxed against internal-network and private-IP targets, so a malicious link can't be used to probe internal infrastructure.
Risk scoring
Links are scored for phishing patterns, malware indicators, adult content, and broken or erroring destinations before they're shown as safe.
Moderation signals
BounceBot findings feed directly into Devit's moderation stack, flagging unsafe shares for review alongside spam and NSFW detection.
Rich, safe previews
Once a link clears BounceBot, Devit renders a live preview — so what you see is what's actually been verified.
It's a small layer most users will never think about — which is exactly the point. Sharing a link on Devit means it's already been checked.
Built to be found
Devit is fully SEO-indexed: public profiles, posts, and communities render server-side Open Graph metadata through Vercel middleware and Supabase edge functions, so shares on Discord, X, and search engines get real previews — title, description, and image — instead of a blank card. Crawlers and bots get properly rendered profile and post pages, not a JavaScript shell, which means Devit content is discoverable well beyond the app itself. Full details on what's collected and indexed are in the Privacy Policy.
Devit isn't trying to be another feed you scroll past. It's a place where shipping something is the whole point.
This is the first stable release, and it's already improving fast — feed ranking refinements, a streamlined post card experience, and deeper community tooling are all actively in progress.
Where Devit fits in CyanixLabs
Devit is the social layer of the CyanixLabs ecosystem — the place where the rest of the stack shows up in public. Repo cards and webhook ship-posts turn everyday work on Cylink-powered projects into something followers can see the moment it happens. Community threads double as a feedback loop for products like Cyanix Intelligence, and BounceBot's safety layer keeps that sharing trustworthy by default. As CyanixLabs grows, Devit is designed to stay the connective thread between what's being built and the people building it.
